Templates & templates
In Laposta, you have the freedom to shape and organize your newsletter as you wish. You can develop your own template, use a ready-made template that is already prepared for you, and have custom templates developed.
Since Laposta is a Dutch program, we always refer to a 'template'; that word is the Dutch version of the English 'template'.
In a template, you determine everything related to the layout of your newsletter, such as the structure of boxes and columns, the type of blocks, the colors, the font, and the size and thickness for headings and texts. You can define this in a template so that you can use it in all your newsletters.
A template prevents you from having to design your newsletter again each time and ensures that your newsletters are recognizable to your recipients.
(Your) Templates in Laposta
Of course, you want your newsletters to look professional and good. In Laposta, you have four different ways to achieve this and work with your own professional and unique template, in your own house style. For every newsletter you create, you select (in Step 3 of Laposta's Six-Step Plan) your desired template, which you will fill in as you wish in Step 4.
You can start with a blank template, work with (or from) a ready-made template, import your custom template, and have a custom template developed.
Tip: in the drag & drop editor, you can save every campaign as your own template!
1. Starting with a blank template
If you choose a blank template, you build the entire structure yourself in the drag & drop editor. You define the design for the display of your newsletter for desktop and mobile in the House Style or per content block. If you only want to place text in your mail, that's also possible.
2. Ready-made templates
The ready-made templates are all developed by professional designers. They are responsive and are therefore displayed correctly on all devices. You can use the ready-made templates for free and get started with them immediately. You fill a ready-made template in the drag & drop editor with texts, images, socials, and videos. You can also adjust the structure and design completely to your wishes (or house style).
Tip: you can find all the ready-made templates in your account on the page Campaigns → Templates → Drag & drop. You are allowed to save an unlimited number of templates in your account.
3. Importing your custom template
Can you design and program a template in HTML and CSS yourself? Then you can enhance this template with Laposta-specific commands and import it into your account. We have gathered examples, commands, and guidelines for you, here in our documentation.
4. Having a custom template developed
Are you unable to get your template the way you want it? Or do you want a newsletter that meets the requirements for digital accessibility, or automatically places content from an RSS feed? If you have a paid account, you can have our designers create a custom template for you. You can choose from:
Design type Charlie - for the drag & drop editor
Based on your website and wishes, our designers will put together a template for you in the drag & drop editor.
Design type Joe – digitally accessible with a custom editor
Based on your wishes (and/or house style), our designers will develop a template in consultation with you, in which your requirements for digital accessibility and feeds can also be incorporated. A ‘Joe’ also features a different editor, which allows you to determine what can or cannot be modified and how.
