Unsubscribe

In Laposta, there is always an unsubscribe link at the bottom of your newsletter. When using our program, this link is mandatory; you cannot remove it (except for service emails). However, you can adjust the text of and around the link when creating a newsletter campaign.

If someone unsubscribes from your newsletter, they will see a message asking them to confirm that they no longer wish to receive newsletters. You can customize that message. You can also choose to receive notifications about this, so you stay informed about the number of unsubscriptions.

Extra feedback after unsubscription

Additionally, your contacts can indicate why they are unsubscribing. You can customize, add, or remove questions you wish to ask your contact. This way, you gain valuable feedback to improve your campaigns.

Unsubscribed contacts are stored in a separate folder 'Unsubscribed' in your contact list. These contacts will no longer count towards your total number of contacts. These unsubscribed contacts will be excluded from the mailing of a subsequent campaign.

The importance of an unsubscribe link

Although you might see an unsubscribe option as a risk of losing contacts, it is actually a good tool to increase engagement with your contacts. There are several reasons why it is important to include an unsubscribe link in your newsletter:

  • Respect for privacy: it gives your contacts control over their personal information and privacy. People are given the freedom to choose whether they want to receive your emails or not.

  • Avoiding irritation: forcing people to receive unwanted emails can lead to irritation and frustration. This can negatively impact the perception of the organization or business sending the newsletter.

  • Compliance with regulations: the GDPR makes it legally mandatory for newsletters to offer an opt-out option. Failure to comply with these rules can lead to legal problems and fines.

  • Improvement of engagement: by giving your contacts the option to unsubscribe, only those who are genuinely interested in the content of your newsletter remain. This can enhance the engagement and interaction with the newsletter, as recipients are more likely to read and respond to what they receive.

In short, providing an unsubscribe option for a newsletter is a matter of respect for your contacts, compliance with legal regulations, and striving for improved engagement with your contacts.
